Self Registration offers a fast and straightforward approach to user authentication, without requiring any integration with your internal IT systems. Your employees will go through a brief sign-up process and register themselves within Mapiq's backend (Microsoft Azure AD B2C).
In this article, we'll delve into the specifics of setting up Self Registration within Mapiq's backend; the information required from registrants, and the security measures that are in place to ensure a safe registration experience.
Domain Restrictions for Enhanced Security
For security reasons, users can only register if their email addresses are associated with domains approved by their organization. This measure ensures that only legitimate members of the organization can register.
Note: Generic domains, such as @gmail.com or @outlook.com, are not permitted. This restriction is in place to prevent unauthorized sign-ups and maintain the integrity of the system.
Information Required for Registration
During the registration process, employees are required to provide specific personal details. This information not only personalizes the user interface—addressing users by their names—but also serves other functional purposes within the system.
Registrants must provide the following information:
Email Address
First Name
Last Name
Password
Configuration Timeline
Setting up Self Registration is a systematic process. Typically, it takes about 5 business days from the moment a completed onboarding form is shared with Mapiq. This timeline ensures that all necessary configurations are in place and that the system is ready for new registrants.
Important Consideration for User Decommissioning
⚠️ It's crucial to note that in the case of Self Registration, Mapiq does not connect with your organization's Active Directory. As a result, if there's a need for user decommissioning (for instance, when an employee leaves the company), this request must be made through Mapiq's Support.
