Getting started with Parking

It is very common for an office to also have one or more parking facilities next to or inside the office building. To complete your office in Mapiq you can set up a parking lot to ensure your employees are able to make parking bookings. More companies are introducing RTO policies and this means you want to facilitate a parking spot for your employees when they are visiting the office.

With the Parking Integration you can ensure that everybody that created a parking booking will also be able to use the parking lot at the office to create a seamless parking experience.

How to use the feature

Upon entering the Parking tab, you will see an overview of all currently configured parking lots in your Mapiq subscription. Just like in the Records table it is possible to adjust the filter options to order the parking lots differently.

Filter option

Description

Name

Filter on the name of the parking lot from A-Z or from Z-A.

Capacity

Filter on the capacity of the Parking Lot in ascending or descending order.

Zones

Filter on the name of the parking lot from A-Z or from Z-A.

Connected buildings

Filter on the name of the parking lot from A-Z or from Z-A.

Published

Filter on the publish date of the Parking Lot from latest to earliest.

By clicking on each individual Parking Lot you can see the details and configurations of this parking. Here it is possible to see and adjust the parking configuration of the parking lot. Here you can add new parking zones, increase or decrease the capacity of the parking or change the opening days of set parking. If you want to delete the parking lot you can do this by pressing the Delete parking lot button.

Lastly it is also possible to add a new parking lot to an existing office building by pressing the +Add parking lot button in the top right corner of the screen. There is already a dedicated support article written on how to create and set up a new parking lot in Mapiq.

Behind the scenes

  • Changes to a parking lot will go in effect immediately!

  • Lowering the capacity can cause the removal of existing bookings when the capacity drops to lower than the amount of active bookings on a certain day. So keep an eye out if you don’t want this to happen!

  • You can connect the same parking lot to multiple buildings.

  • Renaming the parking lot or parking zone will not have any impact on existing bookings.

  • If you have a parking lot with a high capacity it is a best practice to not add every single parking spot as a parking zone.
