In addition to desk bookings and check-in events, the desk occupancy report focuses on desk occupancy measured through desk sensors. Integrated with Mapiq, these sensors detect desk availability and occupancy at specific times. Desk occupancy is based only on desks with associated sensors.

Available Filters
Filters help refine the data presented in the report. Here are the filters available:
Filter | Selection Type | Description |
Building | Multi-select | Filter on specific or multiple buildings to drill down further. |
Floor | Multi-select | Similar to the building, but on floor level. Filters on specific floors if a building is already selected. |
Area | Multi-select | Similar to a Floor filter, but on an area level. |
Hours | Multi-select | Define a day you're interested in, e.g., filter out nighttime. |
Week Length | Single-select | Compare a week (seven days) or a workweek (five days). Not applicable to all graphs. |
Period | Single-select | Determine the period to evaluate your data. Filters range from the beginning of the year to 2021. |
Key Metrics
Like the other reports, key metrics show you a quick overview of your desk occupancy. You can find the explanation per key number below.
Key Metric | Description |
Number of desks with sensors installed | The actual number of sensors installed and sending data to Mapiq. |
Number of desks used less than 10% of the time | Count of desks utilized less than 10% of the time within filtered hours, week length, and period settings. |
The percentage of time occupancy is higher than 75% | The percentage of times occupancy was higher than 75% within filtered settings of hours, week length, and period. |
The lowest percentage of desk occupancy | The least utilized moment within the selected time range. Indicates the minimum occupancy level. |
The average percentage of desk occupancy | The average percentage of desk occupancy is based on the total number of sensors and hours in the selected time range. |
Peak percentage of desk occupancy | The most utilized moment within the selected time range. Indicates the maximum occupancy level. |
Reports
Where is it most busy?
Occupancy per location
Based on sensor data, the occupancy per location graph shows the average percentage of time a desk is occupied compared to the total time available (e.i.: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM). Occupancy is calculated by averaging sampled occupancy data per hour, per workday, and then over the set period. The graph can display data based on building, floor, area, or desk views, allowing for detailed comparisons. The area view shows the average occupancy of all desks in all areas. At the same time, the red line indicates the highest percentage of occupancy measured during one hour in the selected period.
When is it most busy?
Occupancy over time
This graph displays the percentage of desk occupancy on specific dates, taking into account selected filters. It shows the current week and historical weeks based on the Period filter. A trend line indicates whether occupancy is increasing or decreasing, with responsiveness to active filters.
Occupancy per day of the week
Focusing on weekly patterns, this graph displays the average percentage of booked workspaces per day of the week. It helps identify usage patterns of workspaces throughout the week, while the red line indicates the maximum use of workspaces, not maximum capacity. The days shown depend on the Week Length filter.
Occupancy over the day
This graph shows the average percentage of occupancy for desks during office hours (9:00 AM - 6:00 PM) plotted over the hours of the day. If filters include multiple desks, the occupancy over the day will be shown for the average of all selected desks.
