Managing app notifications

To be reminded of the most important events within Mapiq, the app sends out notifications to make you aware of the events that are up and coming. The app sends out multiple notifications. Some might be of importance to you, and some might not. Within the app you can manage the different type of notifications, giving you control of what you want to be notified about.

Notification types

Three different notification types are available in the app. In the table below you can find an overview of the different notification types available.

Notification type

Explanation

Push

Push notifications are notifications that will be sent from the app to your mobile's taskbar. Similar to receiving a text message on your phone.

Email

An email is sent to notify you of one of the notification events. The email it is sent to is the email address you use to sign in to Mapiq.

In-app

Within the app, Mapiq has an In-app Notification Center. All the different notifications will always be visible in the In-App Notification Center and can't be disabled. Refer to our ... article to learn more.

When do I receive a notification?

Within the app, notifications are sent when specific events occur. All the events are related to your bookings. In the table below, an overview is given.

Notification event

Explanation

Booking updates

A notification is sent to you when an admin creates, edits, or deletes a booking on your behalf.

Invitations from people

A notification is sent when you are invited for a group booking.

Booking reminders

In case you have a workspace booking, a reminder is sent to you. This reminder is triggered based on an occupancy threshold set by your admins and sent two days before the booking takes place around 4.00PM local time of the building you created a booking for.

(Un)subscribing from a notification

By default, email notifications are enabled for you. During the onboarding flow, you're given a choice to also enable push notifications. Follow the steps below to (un)subscribe for specific notification types or events altogether.

  1. Sign in to Mapiq through the web browser (https://app.mapiq.com) or the mobile app.

  2. Open Your Profile >> Notifications.

  3. All the notification events are grouped with the respective notification types listed below.

  4. Click the button next to the notification type you want to subscribe to or unsubscribe from.

In case you unsubscribe from both the Push- and Email notifications you are only presented with a notification of the event when you open the app through the In-App Notification Center.
