Importing & Exporting Your Buildings

Mapiq empowers organizations to strike the perfect balance within their offices. Configuring your office space is crucial to achieving this balance. However, configuring an office with multiple floors and areas can take time and effort. Mapiq offers import and export functionalities to make this process easier, allowing us to support you in setting up and troubleshooting your building configurations.

Exporting Your Building

To enlist Mapiq's support in resolving your building configuration issues, follow these steps to export your building:

  1. Go to the Buildings tab in Mapiq Admin (https://admin.mapiq.com).

  2. Click "Export building" next to the building name.

  3. Your building will be exported in the background. The time required depends on the building's size, including the number of floors, desks, and images. You can continue using Mapiq Admin while the export is going on.

  4. Once complete, a .zip file containing a .json file with basic building information and all building images (floor plans & meeting room pictures) will be saved to your computer. Share this file with the appropriate Mapiq team.

    💡 All buildings, published or not and with or without errors, can be exported.

    Only full building exports are possible; partial exports are not available now.

Importing Your Building

After sharing the .zip file with Mapiq and making any necessary corrections, follow these steps to import your building:

  1. Go to the Building tab in Mapiq Admin (https://admin.mapiq.com).

  2. Click "Import building" next to the building name. You can still import one from the "Select building" model if you don't have any configured buildings.

  3. Locate and import the .zip file.

  4. A summary of the upload will be displayed. Click "Import" to start the process, and you'll receive a confirmation message if the upload is successful.

    ⚠️ ZIP file:

    • The imported ZIP file must include all necessary files (e.g., JSON file and related images) with a maximum size of 28.5MB.

    • Only 1 JSON file is allowed per ZIP.

    • Images must be in JPEG, JPG, or PNG format, and their dimensions should be between 1000 x 1000px and 10000 x 10000px.

    • The maximum image file size is 25MB.

    ⚠️ JSON file:

    • Display names (e.g., building, floor, area names) must be at most 32 characters.

    • Please share a valid time zone.

    • Meeting room email addresses need to be in the correct format.

Common Errors & Resolutions

Despite careful preparations, errors may still occur during the import or export. In some cases, you can resolve these issues yourself, while other situations may require the assistance of our Support Team.

Wrong file types

Please ensure the ZIP file contains only one .json file and images are in JPEG, JPG, or PNG formats.

Incorrect JSON scheme structure

Contact Mapiq Support with the error message to correct the JSON file.

Broken JSON scheme

Reach out to Mapiq Support with the error message and the associated ZIP file.

Wrong image dimensions or file size

Provide Mapiq with an appropriate image meeting the required dimensions and file size.

Images must be in JPEG, JPG, or PNG format, and their dimensions should be between 1000 x 1000px and 10000 x 10000px. And the maximum image file size cannot exceed 25MB.

Generic import message

Please try importing again later, and if the problem continues, please get in touch with Mapiq Support with the ZIP file and information on the attempt steps.

Timeout error

Retry the export later, and if it keeps failing, contact Mapiq Support with the building's details.
