Sharing data with external tools through Resources

Updated this week

In today's fast-paced work environment, efficiency is key. With Mapiq's Services, you can seamlessly integrate with external tools through Microsoft Forms, email services or a direct URL, ensuring your data flows effortlessly. Whether you want to enable your employees to quickly request lunch or report a problem, Mapiq's service resources capabilities make the process smooth and intuitive and removing the necessity to 're-enter' information known to Mapiq.

Resources

Through our services you have the possibility to streamline your data to external tools through three different resources. Depending on the used resource, leverage Mapiq data to auto-populate the resource with Mapiq specific information that is relevant to know your external tool (e.g., location)

Data fields

To streamline your workflows and personalize user experiences, you can use data fields to automatically pull information from Mapiq into external tools like Microsoft Forms and email templates.

Let’s start with Microsoft Forms. Since these forms live within the Microsoft environment, you’ll need to manually insert the correct data field placeholders into the form you’re linking to. This step is essential—without it, Mapiq won’t be able to auto-fill the form fields with relevant data. Once the placeholders are in place, Mapiq takes care of the rest, dynamically injecting the right information when users access the form.

On the other hand, setting up email templates is even more straightforward. You can create these templates directly within Mapiq, embedding data fields as needed. This allows you to send personalized emails automatically, using real-time data from your Mapiq environment.

If you’d like to dive deeper, we’ve got dedicated articles that walk you through how to create a service using either Microsoft Forms or email as your resource.
