Checking out from the office lets you signal to your connections that you've left the building. When you check out, the green disc next to your profile picture disappears, helping your colleagues understand your current presence status. This article explains how to manually check out and how automatic check-out works at the end of the day.
Manually checking out of the office
Log in to Mapiq through mobile or web.
Open the
Hometab (usually the first tab you enter when accessing Mapiq, unless you used a bookmark). At the top of the
Hometab your current workday reservation is shown. In this block there's also the option to set your check-in status. When you are checked in, the button is white and states
Check out, press on the button to check yourself out. After doing so your profile picture in the app will visualize your checked out status by removing the green disc.
Similar to the check-in status the removal of the disc is also visible to all your connections to see and understand that you have checked out of the office.
Automatic check-out
You don't always need to manually check out. Mapiq automatically checks you out when the day ends in the time zone of the building where you created your reservation. This means your check-in status resets overnight without any action required from you.
If you were automatically checked in through an integration like Wi-Fi or access badges but don't have a workday or workspace reservation, you won't be able to manually check out for that day. Your status is controlled by the automatic system only.
The Public API is also able to automatically check you out when a check-out event is received by the integrated system.
Behind the scenes
To use the check-out feature, a few things need to be in place:
The check-in feature must be enabled in the Admin portal Settings page
You need an active workday or workspace reservation to manually check out
You must have checked in earlier that day to be able to check out
Your connections can see when you check out through the disappearance of the green disc on your profile picture
