With Mapiq, you can make two different types of bookings: Workspace and Workday bookings. Though they may sound similar, in this article we will highlight the key differences.
Workday Booking
A Workday booking allows you the flexibility to book an office day without needing to reserve a specific desk, area, or floor. Users can select a building from the list of locations they have access to based on their location profiles or indicate if they are not working that day or working remotely. The booking overview displays the availability of office buildings and whether a building is full or closed on a specific day. Depending on your workday status, other bookings, such as a workspace or parking spot bookings, might be disabled if you are working from home.
Workspace Booking
A Workspace booking is similar to the traditional way of booking a workspace. After indicating which office you plan to visit, you can specify whether you need a workspace (reserve a specific desk, area, or floor) or not. When booking a workspace, you'll be guided through the booking process. The booking flow shows where your connections are working, so you can easily reserve a spot near them or choose your preferred option.

Mapiq Administrators can set a workspace quota, which determines how often users can come to the office and how far in advance they can book. This quota is only applicable to Workspace bookings. If you book only a Workday, your quota will not be impacted.

โ ๏ธ If you would like to increase your workspace quota, please reach out to your local Mapiq Administrator(s) or facility manager as Mapiq will not be able to adjust this.
Mandatory or Optional?
Administrators can specify per building whether a workspace booking is mandatory or optional. If a workspace booking is mandatory, you won't be able to indicate that you're only coming to the office without booking a workspace; you'll be required to book a workspace in an area or at a desk.
If the setting is set to optional, you have the choice of whether to book a workspace or not (depending on workspace configurations in the building).
