Exporting App links

Your App links only work once their QR codes are where your employees can scan them. Mapiq gives you three ways to get them out, depending on how many you need. Export the whole building in one go when you're preparing a print run, grab a single QR code from a link's card, or copy and download straight from the table when you need one quickly.

Applies to

  • Admin roles: Subscription Owner, Subscription Admin, and Building Admin for the building you are working in.

  • Add-ons: No add-on is needed to export App links.

Exporting All App Links

Download the QR codes of every App link in the building, together with an overview file.

  1. Go to the Buildings tab and select the building you want to export App links for.

  2. Select App links from the dropdown next to the building name in the breadcrumb.

  3. Click Export.

  4. Under File type, select SVG vector image or PNG image. The Preview shows what the QR codes look like.

  5. Click Export. The button shows the number of links, for example Export 14 links.

  6. Your browser downloads a ZIP file. It contains a qrcodes folder with one image per App link, named after the link id, and an export-contents CSV file.

💡Tip: Choose SVG vector image when the QR codes go to a printer. SVG files stay sharp at any size.

Only need one QR code? Open the link's card instead.

Downloading a Single App Link

Get the QR code and URL of one App link from its card.

  1. Go to the Buildings tab, select the building, and open App links from the dropdown in the breadcrumb.

  2. Click the App link you need. The App link panel opens.

  3. Under URL, copy the link, or click it to test it in your browser.

  4. Under QR code, click Download to save the QR code.

  5. Close the panel with the X in the top right. You don't need to click Save & Publish when you haven't changed anything.

For the fastest route, skip the card and use the icons in the table.

Using the App Link Quick Actions

Copy a URL or download a QR code straight from the App links table.

  1. Go to the Buildings tab, select the building, and open App links from the dropdown in the breadcrumb.

  2. Find the App link in the list. Use the search bar to look it up by location or id.

  3. To copy the URL, click the link icon in the URL column. A Copied to clipboard confirmation appears.

  4. To download the QR code, click the QR icon in the QR column. Your browser downloads an SVG file named after the link id, for example BTW6J6.svg.

Behind the scenes

  • The export includes every link — Commissioned and uncommissioned links are both in the ZIP file, so you can print QR codes before each one has a location.

  • Files are named after the link id — Each QR image carries the id of its App link, and the overview file maps every id to its intent, URL, location, and image file.

  • The overview is a snapshot — The Location at time of export column shows where each link pointed when you exported. Export again after you commission or move links.

  • Table downloads are always SVG — The QR icon in the table always saves an SVG file. Use the Export button when you need PNG images.

  • One QR code per link — A QR code belongs to its link id, not to a location. Keep track of which code goes where, especially when you print uncommissioned links.
