Reactivating an App link

Sometimes an archived link needs to come back, for example when a room reopens or a QR code returns to the wall. You don't have to start over. Reactivating an App link brings it back exactly as it was, with the same QR code, URL, location, and feature intent. The only trick is finding it, because archived links are hidden from the list by default.

Applies to

  • Admin roles: Subscription Owner, Subscription Admin, and Building Admin for the building you are working in.

  • Add-ons: No add-on is needed to reactivate App links.

Reactivating an App Link

Bring an archived App link back, so its QR code and URL work again.

  1. Go to the Buildings tab, select the building, and open App links from the Building Overview or dropdown in the breadcrumb.

  2. Click the filter icon next to the Id column header.

  3. Select Archived. The list now shows your archived links, marked Archived in the URL and QR columns.

  4. Click the App link you want to bring back. The App link panel opens with the status Archived.

  5. Click Reactivate at the bottom of the panel.

  6. An App link reactivated confirmation appears, and the status changes to Active.

  7. Optional: change the Feature intent or Location, then click Save & Publish.

💡 Tip: Select both Active and Archived in the filter to see all your links in one list.

Behind the scenes

  • Archived links are hidden by default — The App links list only shows active links until you change the filter on the Id column.

  • Everything comes back as it was — A reactivated link keeps its link id, URL, QR code, location, and feature intent, so QR codes you printed before still work.

  • Reactivation is instant — The link works again as soon as you click Reactivate. You only need Save & Publish when you change something else in the panel.

  • Check the intent warning — If Mapiq shows The selected feature intent is not supported on this location, the chosen intent doesn't work for that location. Pick another intent or location before you put the QR code back up.

  • One link at a time — You reactivate archived links one by one. Reactivating several links at once isn't available.

  • Archived links are read-only — While a link is archived, its card is greyed out. Reactivate it first to download the QR code or make changes.
